Welsh Myths and Legends: A Starting Point

legend

For a small country, Wales has more than its share of myths and legends and my Welsh teacher at Rhyl High School, John Ambrose, used to reward us at the end of his lessons with a short tale from the Mabinogion and other Welsh legends. It inspired me to include him in my pen name as there are simply too many David Hughes’ in print!

A quick introduction to some of those legends and folk tales can be found here in a book edited by Gillian Clarke, National Poet of Wales… I’d recommend the book as a great introduction to the Legends of Wales…
