The Flint and Denbigh Agricultural Show was an annual event in Rhyl, with farmers from all over the two counties bringing animals, produce and farm machinery to the show site at Brookes Field on the southern outskirts of Rhyl. The subsequent show was a real delight and brought you into close proximity with cows, sheep, goats, horses and tractors. The sights and smells live long in the memory!
Before the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show had a permanent showground in south Wales it used to tour the country and in 1956 it arrived in Rhyl. This was a show on a much grander scale with 5 to 10 times the amount of attractions, and visitors.
