The publicity posters of both the railway companies and Rhyl Town Council always had a fascination for me – most would be distributed around English and Scottish industrial areas to encourage people to come to Rhyl.
When worked at the Rhyl Labour Club in the mid seventies, you could tell which week it was in the summer by the accents as a succession of Wakes Weeks and industrial shut down weeks brought people from Glasgow, the Lancashire and Yorkshire Mill towns on holiday, enticed in no small part by posters like these.
